On June 18, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) passed a ruling that further limits how businesses can use automated calling. Consumers are now able to revoke their consent to be called or texted at any point.
The ruling also clarified an auto dialer as “any technology with the capacity to dial random or sequential numbers.”
This complicates business practices not just for hospitals and medical providers, but also their strategic business office partners. If a patient revokes his or her consent to be contacted by you, it has to be clearly communicated to any vendors who may make calls on your behalf. You can read more about the new ruling here.
Are your outsourced partners keeping an eye on these new regulations? What changes are they making? Are they using predictive dialers?
If you’re concerned about any of your accounts receivables partners and their compliance with this new ruling, you may want to consider a new accounts receivable partner. Contact HCM today to learn about our revenue cycle management processes.
